Workers’ Memorial Day is an international observance held annually on 28 April to remember workers who have died due to occupational injuries or diseases. Originating in North America, the day gained recognition following the establishment of OSHA in 1971 and was officially declared by labour organisations in 1989. The International Labour Organization adopted it as the World Day for Safety and Health at Work in 2001.
