Headphones Day
Headphones Day is observed annually on 13 March to celebrate the development and impact of headphones. The first headphones were invented in 1881 for telephone operators, evolving through innovations such as the 1891 in-ear design by Ernest Mercadier and the 1910 model by Nathaniel Baldwin. Advances continued with dynamic headphones in 1937 and stereo models in 1958. The day honours audio culture, technological progress, and the importance of sound in daily life.
